Without donations, the Mission could not do what we do. Providing three meals a day, a clothing giveaway room, a low cost thrift store… the constant stream of donations that arrive daily are an enormous blessing that truly makes this operation possible.
Some donations go directly to the needy; others are sold in the Thrift Store or sent overseas. The generosity of the Vernon community and surrounding areas is overwhelming!
Where All donations may be brought to the Mission at 3403-27th Ave to the store entrance between the hours of 10Am and 4PM, Monday thru Friday; or Saturday 10-3.
After Hours Clothing may be dropped in the chute near the front door at any time. Please do not drop off any other items without management approval, as there is no guarantees they will still be around when staff arrives in the morning. And please do not dump off any unusable items, as this comes at a great expense to the Mission.

Donations of Food
Most of the food donations received are either used for meals or distributed immediately. As proper stewards, we do our best to ensure that nothing is wasted. Our van makes daily trips to pick up donations from local businesses like: Coopers Foods, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, Vernon Jubilee Hospital and others!
It is not uncommon to receive left over trays from banquets and corporate functions or directly from caterers or restaurants. In the summer months property owners find they have more fruit than they need and drop off boxes of fresh fruit.
What to Donate
We gladly accept all produce, meats, dairy products and dry goods, either fresh or frozen. If in doubt, please call us at (250) 549-1231.
Donations of Clothing
All clean clothing in good repair is gladly accepted and virtually all the clothing received is put to good use! They can be deliverd to the store or dropped down
the chute. Items we are always in need of are:
- footwear
- undergarments
- shirts
- pants
- jackets
- blankets
- sleeping bags
Donations of Household Goods
We receive a wide variety of household goods on a daily basis. As long as the item is working, there is very little that we cannot make use of. While it may seem unusual that we would turn anything away, we are limited in space and are forced to discard those items that we can neither sell nor give away. Trash disposal is an unfortunately significant operating cost.
